Bowflex 552 Dumbbells Review
I used the 552 dumbells with my P90X workout and I have to say they made life a heck of a lot easier. It couldn’t be easier to select the appropriate weight with these things, and with limited time between excersizes, these were golden. The construction is sturdy; not once did I feel any uneasiness in using them. Even moves where the dumbells were lifted quickly and brought back down didn’t cause any issues with the locking mechanism of the dumbells. The only slight issue is the overall length of the dumbells. The width is manageable but the length can cause a few issues in maybe 5% of the excersizes performed. An example of this is doing concentration curls with both arms simultaneously. I ended up having to alternate to get around the length of the dumbell. All in all it is quite easy to work around this small issue and it doesn’t impact the 5 star rating for me especially considering that having used the block alternative as well, the bowflex ones caused a lot less issues during excersize movements.

My husband and I purchased these dumbbells for our son for his birthday. He’s been doing P90X, and as the other reviews have indicated, they are FANTASTIC! My son said that they are so easy to work with and change out with the videos. I got a great price on these and they arrived quickly. If you are thinking about purchasing these dumbbells to use with the P90X program, I believe you will please.

This product is exactly what I hoped it would be. Well made, attractive in appearance (looks great sitting in the corner of my industrial loft’s living room), and very easy to use. I do wish the SelectTech 220 was still available for those of us who use lighter weights and would prefer a smaller dumbell profile. OTOH, my husband can share the 552s while the 220s (max. weight 25 lbs I believe) would not have worked for him. Works great with the P90X exercise program.

Already have a standard dumbbell set + home gym in my basement but wanted adjustable dumbbells to keep around the family room — they are not only a visual reminder but also convenient to use while watching TV, using the computer etc. Paid $384 for the Bowflex 552 on Amazon vs. best sale price $450 at most retail stores. Had some difficulty extracting one of the dumbbells from the base on day one, but since then they have both been easy to remove and replace. Bowflex remains evenly balanced at 15#, 25#, 35# and 45# unlike Stamina Versa-Bell which requires weights to be off-set at those levels. Only negative is that dumbbells are a bit large however their size has not restricted range of motion.

Zumba DVD Fitness Workout Review
I love it. After years of sitting on the couch saying “I really need to exercise” I have found something I want to do. The problem is deciding which routine to do. People who have taken the zumba classes may find these too easy, but for me they are great. I still can’t do all the fast steps, but I get a good workout even when I use a slower pace. I was only able to do 10 minutes the first time, but now zumba for 30-40 minutes almost every day. You can adapt these for the beginner by slowing the pace and not doing all the extra hip movements. Eventually I will get every step and wiggle in. For now I laugh and have a good time doing what I can. Watch a clip on U-tube if it looks like fun to you, give it a try. I love it.

Get this workout! If you are not familiar with latin style dancing, some of the steps can be a little challenging at first, but with a little practice you can get it. And even if you mess up, who cares it’s still a blast! The instructors (both male and female) are pleasant, fun and flirty and speak both Spanish and English. Of the four DVD’s in the set, the beginner video is mainly an instructional “how to” for all the zumba dance steps. The abs, buns and thighs video doesn’t have any dancing at all, just great toning and some yoga and pilates style excercizes. The “power” video is the typical zumba latin dance based workout – a blast! And the “advanced” video is more zumba, just harder! It’s an awesome mix of cardio and core conditioning and fun. Even if you are overweight you will feel sexy and confident and invigorated during this workout. The pounds will melt away before you know it! Highly recommended!

I already have owned the old Zumba from 2002 that had Giselle Roque de Escobar who was very sweet & great timing/instruction as well as Beto who is here & Natalie. The 2002 had 60 min of instruction with Giselles’s clear English & great analogies. The 30 min beginners & 60 min advanced had additional great dancers & 3 person “percussion band” with the great music that demands you move. The quick 20 min Rapido had just jumping around of Beto doing different steps & some regular aerobics mixed in & literally just jumping around like a maniac. I LOVED that set, everyone was a great fluid dancer, were having fun, non-stop aerobics pace, great music & Giselle made learning SO easy & not intimidating at all & have played the beginner & advanced so many times, I know everything down pat to the millisecond. This 2004 version doesn’t have Giselle, but the production feel, style & great music is still the same. Beginners (learning the steps) – is only 18 min long, has Beto first teaching in Spanish then Natalie w/clear English translating 20 seconds later & with my limited Spanish classes, I could tell she would leave out some of the instruction. The instruction is limited, but they go very slow at first so you can learn pretty easily by watching, then they go full speed after and only on one side unlike the 2002 version. It’s still good. They teach 3 styles of Merengue, 3 salsa, 1 samba, 2 reggaeton, 3 flamenco & 3 styles of cumbia.

Barry’s Bootcamp Complete Workout System Review
I am one of those people that have tried every diet and bought every exercise video. I bought Barry’s Bootcamp about a month ago and love it. It is definitely intense and now I understand the “Bootcamp.” It looks easy but it is hard and you sweat like a pig. With all the different DVD’s you don’t get bored and you literally work every muscle in your body. I hadn’t been this sore since joining a gym in the 90’s. I would definitely recommend this system to family and friends!

This is an excellent workout, I’m not a expert on workout videos but I noticed a difference in a week!!! Your heart rate will definitley go up and you will sweat. the only thing that i was disappointed in was the transmitter ball was alot smaller than the one in the video. Other than that its worth every penny!!!

I purchased this exercise video for both my husband and myself. I liked the short exercises, and thought with this apporach, we could accomplish something. I think it will work. The problem is the size of the ballon ball you receive with the videos. In the video it is plenty big enough for all the people (men and women) working out in the video…..the one you get in the package is much smaller. Not a huge deal for me, but it is for a 200lb.+ man.
